With four females in our household who love good-smelling soap and lotion, it can be a challenge to find some that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and that won’t irritate our sensitive skin. That’s why I decided to make my own! With all-natural, great-smelling ingredients, this can be a perfect gift for anyone on your Christmas list — or a nice treat for yourself!
DIY Lavender Vanilla Whipped Body Butter
There are only three ingredients, making this a super simple and healthy recipe for skin care. None of those artificial chemicals that can irritate your skin, or worse yet, be carcinogenic!
Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and melt over low heat.
Transfer to a mixing bowl and place in the freezer along with your mixing whisk for 15 minutes. You want the oil to be chilled for it to whip properly.
Once chilled, use an electric mixer on medium high for 5-7 minutes until light and fluffy. Store in a jar with a lid.
Note: In warm conditions, the body butter can melt back into an oil. If this happens, place in the freezer to chill, then whip it back up again.
I used Lavender and Vanilla, making the relaxing and yummy scent of Lavanilla. Of course, you can substitute different essential oils and choose your own scent! I love how simple this project is, yet it produces great results. It’s so healthy for your skin, too!
What scent of DIY whipped body butter would you make?
